Azkar al Lail - Night Azkar
1 ✦ Hadith: Whenever you go to bed , recite Aayat al Kursi , No shaitan will come near you till morning..

✦ Rasool-Allah Sallallahu Alahih Wasallam said Whenever you go to bed, recite "Ayat-al-Kursi"-- 'Allahu la ilaha illa huwa-l-Haiy-ul Qaiyum' till you finish the whole verse. (If you do so), Allah will appoint a guard (Angel) for you who will stay with you and no satan will come near you till morning.

اللَّهُ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ
لاَ تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلاَ نَوْمٌ
لَهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ
مَنْ ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ
يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ
وَلاَ يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ عِلْمِه
ِ إِلاَّ بِمَا شَاءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّه
ُ السَّمَاواتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَلاَ يَئُودُهُ
حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ

✦ Allahu La ilaha illa huwa , Alhayyul Qayyum
La ta khudhuhu (Kuzuhu) sinatuw wa la naum,
Lahu ma fissamawati wa ma fil ardh (Ard)
man dhalladhi ( zallazi) yashfaoo, Eendahu, illa be-eznih,
ya'alamu ma bayna aydihim wa ma khalfahum,
wa la yuhituna beshayeem-min eelmih, illa bima shaaa,
wasiya kursiyyuhus samawati wal ardh (ard)
wala yaooduhu hifdhuhuma (Hizuhuma)
wahuwal Aleeyul adheem (azeem).

✦ English Translation:( Ayat Al Kursi)
ALLAH! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He),
Al-Hayyul-Qayyum (the Ever Living,
the One Who sustains and protects all that exists).
Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him.
To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth.
Who is he that can intercede with Him except with His Permission?
He knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world, and what will happen to them in the Hereafter.
And they will never compass anything of His Knowledge except that which He wills.
His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth,
and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them.
And He is the Most High, the Most Great.

2 ✦ Hadith: Recite Surah Al-Kafirun then go to sleep , because it is a declaration of freedom from shirk (polytheism.)

Lakum deenukum waliya deen.

✦ Say O disbelievers, I worship not that which you worship, Nor will you worship that which I worship And I shall not worship that which you are worshiping, Nor will you worship that which I worship To you be your religion and to me my religion

3 ✦ Hadith: Rasool-Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam used to recite Surat Al-ikhlas, Al-Falaq and An-Nas every night 3 times and blow on his body

✦ Narrated by Aisha Radi Allahu Anha Whenever RasoolAllah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. He used to do that three times.

لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ
✦ Qul Hu Wallahu Ahad, ALLAHus-Samad, Lam Yalid walam Yulad, Walam Yakul-lahu Kufuwan Ahad

And from the evil of the darkening (night) as it comes with its darkness,
And from the evil of those who practise witchcraft when they blow in the knots

who withdraws (from his whispering in one's heart)
Who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind
From among the jinn and mankind

4 ✦The Virtue of the Last two verses of Surah Al Baqarah

✦ The Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said, "If somebody recited the last two Verses of Surat Al-Baqara at night,that will be sufficient for him.(it means he will be protected from all kind of evils in that night)

لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَا اكْتَسَبَتْ رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَاأَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا، رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِه،ِ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا ،أَنتَ مَوْلَانَا فَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ

✦ Al Quran : The Messenger (Muhammad sallallahu alaihi wasallam ) believes in what has been sent down to him from his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each one believes in Allah, His Angels, His Books, and His Messengers. (They say), We make no distinction between one another of His Messengers" - and they say, We hear, and we obey. (We seek) Your Forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the return (of all).
✦ Allah burdens not a person beyond his scope. He gets reward for that (good) which he has earned, and he is punished for that (evil) which he has earned.
✦ Our Lord ! Punish us not if we forget or fall into error,
✦ Our Lord ! Lay not on us a burden like that which You did lay on those before us (Jews and Christians);
✦ Our Lord ! Put not on us a burden greater than we have strength to bear.
✦ Pardon us and grant us Forgiveness. Have mercy on us.
✦ You are our Maula (Patron, Supporter and Protector, etc.) and give us victory over the disbelieving people.

5 ✦ Hadith : if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it and dies before the morning he will be from the people of Paradise.

✦ Rasool-Allah Sallallahu Alahih Wasallam said if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it and dies before the morning he will be from the people of Paradise. The Prophet (ﷺ) said "The most superior way of asking forgiveness from Allah is
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَىَّ وَأَبُوءُ لَكَ بِذَنْبِي، فَاغْفِرْ لِي، فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ
✦ Allahumma anta Rabbi la ilaha illa ant, Khalaqtani wa ana abduk, wa ana 'ala ahdika wa wa'dika mastata't,Awuzu bika min sharri ma sana't, abu'u Laka bini'matika 'alay, wa Abu'u Laka bizambi fagfirli fa innahu la Yagfiru-az-zunuba illa anta.

Translation: O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be
worshiped except You, You created me and I am Your servant and I Obey to Your covenant and promise as best as I can,
I take refuge in You from the evil of which I committed.
I acknowledge Your favor upon me and I acknowledge my sin,so forgive me, indeed none can forgive sins except You.

✦ Rasool-Allah Sallallahu Alahih Wasallam said Say it when you go to bed.
اللَّهُمَّ عَالِمَ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَاطِرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ رَبَّ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَمَلِيكَهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي وَمِنْ شَرِّ الشَّيْطَانِ وَشِرْكِهِ
✦ Allahumma Aalimal-ghaibi wash-shahadati faṭiras-samawati wal-arḍ, Rabba kulli shai’in wa malikahu, Ash-hadu an la ilaha illa anta, Audhu bika min sharri nafsi wa min sharrish-shaiṭāni washirkihi
✦ O Allah Knower of the Unseen and the Seen, Originator of the heavens and the earth, Lord of everything and its Possessor, I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except You, I seek refuge from You from the evil of my soul and from the evil of Shaitan and his Shirk

8 ✦ Hadith : If you die after reciting this dua in night , then you will die as a Muslim

✦ RasoolAllah SallAllahu Alaihi Wasallam said whenever you go to your bed (for sleeping) say (these dua) and (After saying this) If you then die on that night, then you will die as a Muslim, and if you wake alive in the morning then you will receive the reward.
اللَّهُمَّ أَسلَمتُ نَفسِي إِلَيكَ، وَفَوَّضتُ أَمرِي إِلَيكَ
وَوَجَّهتُ وَجهِي إِلَيكَ، وَأَلجَأتُ ظَهرِي إِلَيكَ
رَغبَةً وَرَهبَةً إِلَيكَ، لاَ مَلجَأَ وَلاَ مَنجَا مِنكَ إِلاَّ إِلَيكَ
آمَنتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنزَلتَ، وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرسَلتَ

Allahumma aslamtu nafsi ilaika, wa fauwadtu Amri ilaika, wa wajjahtu wajhi ilaika, wa alja'tu zahri ilaika, reghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika. La malja'a wa la manja minka illa ilaika. Amantu bikitabikal-ladhi anzalta wa Binabiyyikalladhi Arsalta.

O Allah! I have surrendered myself over to you and have turned my face towards You, and leave all my affairs to You and depend on You and put my trust in You expecting Your reward and fearing Your punishment. there is no refuge nor escape from You except with You. I believe in the Book (Qur'an) which You have revealed and I believe in Your Prophet Sal-Allahu Alaihi wasallam whom You have sent.

Alhamdulillahil-ladhi Kafani Wa Awani, Alhamdulillahil-ladhi At'amni wa saqani, Alhamdulillahil-ladhi manna Alayya wa Afzal, Allahumma inni Asaluka Bi-izzatika An Tunjiyani Minan Naar
✦ All praises are due to Allah Who sustained me and gave me shelter. All praises are due to Allah Who gave me food and drink. All praises are due to Allah Who granted me His blessing and his grace. O Allah, I ask You by Your power to save me from the Hellfire.

✦ When the Rasool-Allah Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam went to his bed, he would say:
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَكَفَانَا وَآوَانَا فَكَمْ مِمَّنْ لَا كَافِيَ لَهُ وَلَا مُؤْوِيَ
Praise is due to Allah Who fed us, provided us drink, sufficed us and provided us with shelter, for many a people there is none to suffice and none to provide shelter.

11 ✦: Dua while sleeping / to protect from the punishment of the Qayamah

✦ It was narrated from Abdullah bin Masood Radhi allahu anhu that:whenever the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam went to his bed, he would put his hand - meaning his right hand - beneath his cheek then say:
اللَّهُمَّ قِنِي عَذَابَكَ يَوْمَ تَبْعَثُ - أَوْ تَجْمَعُ - عِبَادَكَ
Allahumma qini Adhabaka yawma tabathu wa tajmau ibadaka
(O Allah, save me from Your punishment on the Day when You resurrect - or gather - Your slaves).

Oh Allah with your Name Do I Die and I live.

13 ✦ Azkar which becomes the light in the grave and light on the pul sirat

✦ : Ibn Umar RAdi Allahu Anhuma said: Whoever says following Azkar 3 times after every prayer and when he goes to bed, they will be light for him in his grave and light on the pul siraat (bridge over Hell), until they enter him to Paradise
اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ كَبِيرًا عَدَدَ الشَّفْعِ ، وَالْوِتْرِ، وَكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ الطَّيِّبَاتِ الْمُبَارَكَاتِ
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللهُ عَدَدَ الشَّفْعِ وَالْوِتْرِ وَكَلِمَاتِ اللهِ التَّامَّاتِ الطَّيِّبَاتِ الْمُبَارَكَاتِ
✦ : Allahu Akbar Kabeera Adadash-shaf‘i wa’l-witr, Wa kalimaatillahit-Taammaatit-Tayyibaatil-Mubaarakaat
La ilaha illAllah Adadash-shaf‘i wa’l-witr, Wa kalimaatillahit-Taammaatit-Tayyibaatil-Mubaarakaat
✦ : Translation : Allah is Most Great, the number of the even and the odd, and the blessed, pure, perfect words of Allah
There is no god except Allah, the number of the even and the odd, and the blessed, pure, perfect words of Allah

14 Hadith: Recite Subhan Allah 33 times Alhamdulillah 33 times and Allahu Akbar 34 times (Tasbeeh Fatima)

Fatima Radi Allahu Anha came to the Prophet Sallallahu Alaihi wasallam asking for a servant. He said, May I inform you of something better than that? When you go to bed, recite Subhan Allah' thirty three times, 'Al hamduli l-lah' thirty three times, and 'Allahu Akbar' thirty four times. 'Ali Radi Allahu Anhu added, 'I have never failed to recite it ever since.
